ON NUMBERS & TIME EVOLUTION:

ON NUMBERS & TIME EVOLUTION:

A ray is not infinite nor is a line - it has no infinite extent though it is an ever increasing number n+1, because it has one endpoint from which counting starts and continues as “one’s” in each step. The mechanism is that for “many” (you see the same ray increasing by a finite speed) – not infinity.

Zero cannot represent here-now and it would be wrong to treat it as the Origin, which is the arbitrarily chosen starting point from which numbers are measured. You begin with one and not zero. The difference or extent between the origin and one are part of one and not from zero to one. If you measure 6 feet, then you start from zero because beyond that, it is earth or space, which are not similar to you. Since you do not exist at those “here-now” points, you are zero there. Zero is used as a part of time evolution to represent the cause. Time evolution takes part in six steps: 1) from being as a cause to 2) becoming the effect that is perceived, 3) growth due to accumulation of similars (linear numbers), 4) transformation due to accumulation of partially similars (nonlinear number representation), 5) transmutation due to reduction and 6) change of form due to disintegration of the process. Here the first stage represents zero (the number of children before or during pregnancy is zero, the number of apples borne in a tree when planted initially as a sapling is zero, etc.). The number sequence begins from the second stage with one and increases as “one’s” (n+1). The third and the fourth are causes for addition and multiplication. The fifth is the cause for reduction – both linear (multiplication) and non-linear (division). The last is the cause for infinity, as the cycles repeat infinitely. You cannot say that it was the first or the last or the nth cycle.

How do you define something as positive or negative? A proton carries positive charge and an electron carries negative charge. If you analyze their characteristics, you will find that positive represents centrality (hence real numbers) and negative represents their confinement, which is conditional on the existence of the positive. They are complements – not inverse of each other. Inverse is a reciprocal quantity, mathematical expression, geometric figure, etc. which is the result of inversion - the action of inverting something or the state of being inverted like a reversal of the normal decrease of air temperature with altitude, or of water temperature with depth. In the case of proton and electron, the charges are not inverse, but equal and opposite. Without a proton, there will be no electron – it becomes unstable. Hence negative numbers represent complementarity – not inversion. But complementarity of what? Since numbers are related to objects, it has to be related to who owns them – a concept of "debt", which they represent in general.

Zero has no abstract identity – you cannot have zero without specifying or identifying what such zero is related to or with reference to. It cannot have additive identity, because it does not exist at here-now and all operations including addition are done only at here-now.

One is not like zero, because one represents something existing at here-now, which has no similars. Zero does not exist at here-now. One has multiplicative (and exponential) identity, because that is how we perceive “many” – multiple “one’s” in a sequence in the format n+1, where the first n = 1 (like 1+1=2, 2+1=3, and so on).
